It’s hard to believe it’s already October!

We have a lot of enriching activities planned for this very spooky month, starting with a PA-sponsored BMX Anti-Bullying show for the students on October 3rd. In this engaging, fun show, students will learn that bullying has no place in our school community.

For our first Family Fitness Funday of the new school year, come join us for a great morning of karate. It’s a great way to show our children how important and fun exercising can be. Join us for a bagel brunch directly following Karate. Click here for more information or look out for flyers sent home the first week of the month.

Mark your calendars! On October 25th, the PA will be having our first restaurant fundraiser of the 2017-2018 school year at Chipotle. All you need to do is visit Chipotle on Austin Street between 4pm and 8pm and show them our flyer with your purchase to help support our school. Click here for flyer and be sure to tell your family and friends! The more money we raise - the more we can do for our children.

One of the highlights of the month (and of the school year!) is our Annual Halloween Party on Sunday, October 29th from 4pm-7pm. Flyers will be going home the week of October 9th with all the information you need. We will start selling tickets at the PA meeting on Oct 17th. If you would like to purchase tickets through our website, please click here. It’s a spooky, fun time for our students and families filled with music, dancing, activities, photo opportunities, food and much more.

A friendly reminder, please try to label your child’s belongings. We are one month into the school year and the lost and found is already starting to pile up. If your child forgot to bring back something then please have them look for their belonging in the lost and found or drop by during morning drop-off and look for their stuff.

Here are a few ways to get involved with the PA:

*Volunteer- We love when parents get involved. It doesn’t have to be a yearlong commitment. If you have time to help out, please contact us at info@PA196.org

*Donate- Every bit helps. Donations allow us to give back to our children in meaningful ways, whether it’s supporting our amazing after school program or throwing our amazing Halloween party.

*Visit our website www.PA196.org We update information daily on not just what’s going on with the Parents Association but also on what’s going on in the school.

*Come to our monthly meetings which are on the third Tuesday of every month. A list of meeting dates can be found under the “About the PA” tab.
