Happy Spring!

April will fly by faster than you know it. Our children will be on Spring Break from April 10th and returning to school on April 19th.

Our April Parents Association meeting will take Place on Tuesday, April 25th at 7:30pm in the school cafeteria. Hoping to see many of you there, where we will share some results from our PA Feedback Survey (thanks for participating!) Participation is key! The more parents that attend the stronger we are as a whole.

Our monthly Family Fitness Fundays continue on Saturday, May 6th with a fitness challenge presented by coaches from E3 Sports. Come, join the fun, for a great workout and to get a glimpse of some of the activities that our students have been doing during active recess (E3 Sports runs that program for us.)

Just in time for Mother’s Day, on May 12th we will proudly be hosting a plant sale where the students and families can purchase beautiful plants for all of their loved ones. The event will start at the beginning of the day and last until 2:00. All children will be visiting the Mother’s Day plant sale throughout the day (more information to come shortly). We are also working on getting another restaurant fundraiser in the works, this time at Shake Shack.

Mark your calendars! On May 22nd, the Parents Association will be hosting their annual International Night. This is a great event for our students and their families to get a taste of the cultures in our school. Want to make life a bit easier and have your child’s school supplies delivered to your home? The Parents Association is working with School Pak, again this year, to give families the opportunity to purchase school supplies for the September 2017 – June 2018 school year. If you are interested, below is the link for parents to use to order their supplies. There a list for boys and a list and girls for each grade. Each year, the grade supply lists are separated like this – with a few items different - between the boys & girls, and this is only to manage the needs of the classrooms (not for any other reason). Boys and girls may be asked to bring in different sized paper plates, for example. Or girls bring paper towels & boys bring hand soap. The deadline to order is July 12th. We love volunteers! Without the help of parent volunteers, we would not be able to do the amazing events that we do for the students of 196. If you have some spare time, please consider volunteering!
