Elizabeth Fassler, co-President

Hi! I’m Lizzie. This is my second year as co-president of the PA. I have been involved with with the PA since my older daughter was in kindergarten. She is in 7th grade at Halsey and my younger daughter is in 4th grade. I was a class parent for both of my daughters' classes and worked with the PA on various committees and fundraisers. I am excited to partner again with Dina as Co-President as well as the rest of this amazing group of volunteer parents who make up the Board. I look forward to partnering with our amazing PS 196Q community for the benefit of all our children.

Ilana Haas, co-Secretary

Hi, PS196 Families! I am excited to start my second year on the PA Board and my first year in a new position as Co-Secretary. I’m a mom of three girls, of which two are current PS196 students and I am an Elementary Special Education Teacher. I am also passionate about reading and am an Educational Services Representative for Usborne Books and More! I look forward to bringing some fun activities to PS196 this year and creating positive experiences for students and teachers to enjoy. I hope to see many of you at the PA Meetings this year and look forward to meeting you all in the future!

Deborah Sachs, co-Secretary

Hi PS 196 families! My name is Deborah and my daughter started Kindergarten at PS 196 last year. I was happy to be involved both in her class and the school. I enjoyed greatly being a class parent and loved being able to volunteer at the school - whether it was on Picture Day, helping with the students’ Lost & Found, or bringing a very fun author visit to our school! I’m looking forward to another great year which I’m sure will be filled with amazing experiences for our children, both inside and outside of the classroom! Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and all around wonderful school year.

Kiran Bharwani, co-Treasurer

Hi, I'm Kiran and it will be my first year as a PA co-treasurer. My daughter just completed Kindergarten, for which I was one of the class parents. I'm excited about what this year will bring especially as things start to normalize. I hope to help families come together again to celebrate everything that makes our school so amazing.

Rachel Bialik, co-Treasurer

Hi, I’m Rachel. This year, I have a daughter in fourth grade and a son in first grade at 196. This is my second year on the PA board, but I have been a class parent and a frequent PA volunteer. I have also organized spiritwear for the past few years. I am very excited to be a co-treasurer with Kiran and to help the school fund awesome programs for our kids. Before becoming a mostly stay at home mom, I was a government auditor and a high school teacher. I’m looking forward to a great year of school events and fun for our kids.
